Happy motoring! Brad Bowman Monte Carlo Garages | | | Exclusive News and Features | | | Snapshot: Hagerty Drivers Club | | Much more than an insurance company, Hagerty is more along the lines of a motoring enthusiast’s lifestyle network. The company has immersed itself into the collector community as an integral partner and enthusiastic fan of special interest transportation, especially cars and motorcycles. One of the benefits of being a member is the Drivers Club – in fact, so enthusiastic is Hagerty about cars and the community that people can join the Drivers Club without having Hagerty Insurance.
“We are all enthusiasts, and at Hagerty, we want people to enjoy the community,” said Spencer Gates, territory manager for Hagerty.
The Club is only $45 per year to become involved with, and that includes an award-winning magazine, exclusive automotive discounts, members-only events, one year of MotorTrend streaming service for free, seminars, and more.
“The seminars are fantastic, we host a variety of in-the-know pros from the industry who discuss many topics ranging from the rise of the electric vehicle to how a proper Concours is judged,” he said.
But there are also fabulous discounts, such as 20% off Skip Barber Racing School, discounts from Reliable Transportation, 10% off at Coker Tire, and more.
“The Hagerty Valuation Tool is another great resource, and members get access to the Premium Tool,” Spencer said. “It’s a great way to find the value of your car or see if a seller is priced right.”
Another unique service is the CARcierge Help Desk, which can help you find a service facility or locate parts – and to help get the car to that new facility, Drivers Club members have access to professional towing services that are skilled at handling special interest cars.
Check out Hagerty’s website here or give Spencer a call on 704-612-1546 to learn more. If you’re not already part of the club, maybe give it some thought – it’s a great network for only $45 per year. | | | | | October 15-17, 2020 – Mecum Auctions in Dallas, Texas

The Sandhills Motoring Festival, held in The Village of Pinehurst, just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina was put on hold like so many other events this year – so, Marvin Waters, the founder of the event, decided it would be fun to host smaller gatherings like Cars and Coffee. “We have to keep going, now that things are getting better, now that we are all better educated on how to maintain our health against Coronavirus, we can enjoy events like this a little more,” he said.
About 100 cars showed up, ranging from a 1909 Peerless to a host of modern cars like a 2020 McLaren, 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLK32 AMG, and a 2012 Bentley Continental to name a few, with an exceptional variety in between such as a 1960 Lotus Elite, 1963 Morgan, 1959 Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet, 1967 Corvette Sting Ray, and Marvin’s own 1974 Corvette.
“The event was terrific, we were very happy, and everyone seemed to have a smile,” said Marvin. “Even Mayor John Strickland came out for a visit, and Bob Ingram brought out a beautiful Speedster.”
Held at the Roast Office in the historic Village of Pinehurst, Sandhills Motoring Festival’s Cars & Coffee is scheduled for the first Sunday of every month, the next one being November 1, 2020. For more information, call Marvin Waters on 910-315-2918.
